On 5th December, a court case of Lukasz Sibilak will take place in Poznan. Lukasz Sibilak was fired from Greenkett company in October 2007. WI sued the employer for illegal dismissal of the union activist and discrimination against him. Earlier the same year two other activists from the same union were sacked, they managed to make an agreement with the company and were paid damages.
On 15th December, in Slubice (Western Poland), court case of TRANS company from Kostrzyn n. Odra will take place. The management of the company has been constantly harassing Jacek Rosolowski, the activist of WI. Since Rosolowski has started to demand respect for workers' rights , he's being punished by the management with different legal means.
On 16th December in Gdansk, there will be a court case of Bartosz Kantorczyk, a postman and an activist of WI.
What's more, in the last week of November 2008 four members of WI were dismissed statistical office in Opole. The official reason for that is cuts in staff numbers, the real one - repression against union activism. The management of the company wants to dismiss the chairman and vice-chairperson of the union's commission in this company. They are under constant threat of being fired. The dismissed people already sued the company for illegal dismissal.
